Dog-friendly café in Nice: our tips for a great outing with your dog

At Full Bloom, dogs aren't just tolerated — they're expected. The café was designed from day one as a place you come to with your companion, where they have their water bowl, their pup cup and even their own shelf in our concept store. Here's what we've learned from welcoming hundreds of dogs at the port of Nice.

Before you go

  • A walk first. A dog that's had a good run settles much more easily. A loop around the port or a climb up Castle Hill, and they'll happily nap under the table.
  • The right gear. A short lead for indoors, and maybe a small mat or blanket they know — it helps them understand this is the place to settle.
  • Watch the heat. In summer in Nice, pavements can burn paws. Go at cooler times and stick to shady streets.

Once you're there

  • Keep them close. Even the most sociable dog doesn't necessarily want to meet everyone. A short lead keeps service from turning into a slalom.
  • Ask before introductions. The other dogs in the café have their own personalities too.
  • Water, always. We have a bowl of fresh water out at all times — just ask.
  • A well-earned treat. That's what the pup cup is for.

The first few times

If your dog is new to cafés, start with short visits at quiet times. Sit near the door, order to go if needed, and build up gradually. Praise them as soon as they settle: that's how they learn the café is a nice place to be.

A relaxed dog at a café is a dog that's understood it has nothing to do except be with you.

Why we chose this

When we opened in 2023, we wanted a place that looked like our lives: good coffee, people we love, and dogs everywhere. The concept store came from the same idea — accessories and treats we'd use ourselves.

So come as you are, with your best friend. There's always room for them.
